From Cordaware bestinformed Version 5, the Infoserver is able to accept both IMAP4 and XMPP/Jabber based Client-connections.

IMAP4 Client Connections

From Cordaware bestinformed Version 5 it is possible to setup a client connection to the Infoserver using the IMAP4 protocol. This allows to connect devices and applications without the need to install an Infoclient or where the Infoclient can't be installed. The IMAP4 client connection is permanent and visible in the connection overview with username, IP address and other device-related data. IMAP4 connections are SSL secured by default.

XMPP/Jabber Client Connections

From Cordaware bestinformed Version 5 it is possible to setup a client connection to the Infoserver using the XMPP/Jabber protocol. This allows to connect devices and applications without the need to install an Infoclient or where the Infoclient can't be installed. Also, XMPP/Jabber clients can send and submit a response-text to any Info which is accessible on the Infoserver's website. The XMPP client connection is permanent and visible in the connection overview with username, IP address and other protocol-related data. XMPP connections are SSL secured by default.
